Drugs of Abuse
Citalopram is an SSRI used to treat depression and anxiety by increasing serotonin levels in the brain. Common side effects include nausea, dry mouth, drowsiness, insomnia, and sexual dysfunction. It may increase suicidal risk in some individuals, especially younger patients. Treatment requires following medical guidance, as abrupt discontinuation can cause withdrawal symptoms.
